I woke up with this little guy less than 2 feet from my head this morning. We moved him into the sink so that I could get a good photo. There is a pretty big version available if you want to zoom in and see the fiddle on his back, which is indicative of his being a Brown Recluse. They are really common here, a "normal" house spider. There are more mis-diagnosed recluse bites in California than real bites in all area where recluse spiders actually live combined.

damn good birds
I used Muvee producer to cobble together another video. This one is of some bird footage that I captured with my Canon PowerShot A520. It is set to the TMBG song "Damn Good Times," one of Mel's favorites. This is kind of a Mother's day present for her. If you can't use flash, follow this link
